About Project CCA

Learning involves thinking and doing. Everyday theology integrates thought and action. Harris Institute is a learning environment that values both. We have several partners and initiatives worldwide, including the Collective Compassion Alliance (CCA) in Ruhija, Uganda.

CCA is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO). Harris Institute is proud to provide administrative and spiritual oversight as a lead partner with this locally initiated vision in Ruhija. CCA extends compassion to vulnerable communities in Rubanda District and the wider Kigezi Region of Uganda. The organization began as a collaborative effort between local leaders and then international partners who believe in the power of teamwork to transform lives through education, healthcare, and community development.

CCA's goal is not just to meet immediate needs but to create empowered, self-sufficient communities where each person has the chance to thrive.

CCA focuses on compassion, service, and empowerment. We have five initiatives:

1. Orphanage and Vulnerable School Initiative

Offering free, quality education, meals, and holistic care to orphaned and vulnerable children, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Rev. Stefanie Joyce and Twinamasiko Pauson oversee this program, supported by local teaching and support staff.

The Medical Camp conducts regular medical outreach events in underserved communities, providing free treatments, check-ups, and health education to hundreds of people from the Ruhija communities.

Lisa Keck and Ainebyoona Goodtime coordinate Medical Camps with assistance from local healthcare professionals and visiting volunteer medics.

Seeds of Hope is a women’s empowerment initiative that provides members with skills training, small business support, and leadership development to enhance their economic independence and social well-being.

Atusiimire Prudence and Amutuheire Phiona jointly lead the Seeds of Hope – Women Empowerment Initiative.

This program connects local and international volunteers to support CCA’s initiatives, bringing fresh skills, cultural exchange, and extra hands to our initiatives.

Ainebyoona Goodtime manages this initiative. Twinamasiko Pauson is a key facilitator for the volunteer Initiative.

The farm project establishes a sustainable farm to produce food for the school and community, generate income, and serve as a learning center for modern farming practices.

Louis Dimus manages the Community Farm, which combines food security.

Leadership Team

CCA is governed by a dedicated board of directors that oversees different aspects of the organization. There is an additional team of staff members who support the board with fundraising, curriculum development, logistics, and other tasks.

Exciting news
The Harris Institute is partnering with CCA to develop a Community of Learning in Ruhija, Uganda!

A generous donor has already helped us secure the land.

Our vision is to build facilities to provide orphan care for 50 children in the village, new spaces for a day school serving 150 children, a medical clinic for the community, living quarters for widows and single moms in Seeds of Hope, and a lodge for safari guests and short-term mission groups.

Give any amount to our mission to build a vibrant community for our friends in Ruhija!
